Vote for The Littlest Hoglet in the 2025 Smiley Charity Film Awards!
Our animated film, The Littlest Hoglet, is an entrant in this year’s Smiley Charity Film Awards – but now we need your vote!
Created with production company Liquona and narrated by environmentalist Chris Packham, The Littlest Hoglet was released as a series during Hedgehog Awareness Week 2024 and has now been made into a short 5-minute-long film. The charming tale follows the misadventures of a young hedgehog who accidentally teaches us how to make our gardens safer, more welcoming spaces for hedgehogs.
Fay Vass, Chief Executive for BHPS, said: “We’re so excited that The Littlest Hoglet is in the running for the Smiley Charity Film Awards– the Oscars of charity film!
“The Littlest Hoglet was created to help us spread the word about all the things we can do to help hedgehogs not only survive in the wild but to thrive – and to reach the next round would mean so much to us and our dwindling hedgehog populations!
“Just a couple of clicks can help get us to the judging round and it’s completely free – please vote now and share with everyone you know who loves hedgehogs!”

Hedgehog populations in the UK are in serious decline – and as they’re a great indicator species, if they are not coping well, it should ring alarm bells for other species, including humans.
The Aardman-esque film carries actions with hedgehog welfare in mind – perfect for sharing on social media, or as part of a lesson plan or assembly. To date, the series has gathered well in excess 85,000 views on YouTube as well as a huge amount of positive audience interaction and shares on Facebook, Instagram and X.
Vote now and be inspired to make Britain hedgehog-friendly and help the littlest hoglets in your own neighbourhood!
